Knees wrote this when he was playing with The Torques, and it was one of his few slow songs. The words are pretty insipid but the chords are rather interesting, especially for 1965. Later, in the 70s and 80s in Las Cruces, this was one of the Calhoon Brothers favorite tunes. Mark Coker, the guitar player, said it reminded him of the Beau Brummels.
Though skies are grey my love,
We’ll find a way my love
And it’s true, I love you
Though leaves may fall my love,
I’ll give you all my love
And it’s true, I love you.
And you know I need you, it’s no mystery
And I’ll never leave you but will always be
Right by your side my love,
Not a thing to hide my love
And it’s true, I love you.
