Knees’ first C&W song. He didn’t really like this kind of music in 1965 but figured if he played it, he might as well write it. At the time he had sworn to always have the word “Mojo” in every one of his songs but fortunately, soon after he dropped this particular quirk. Harry Batchelor, the other guitar picker in the Torques, thought the line “doncha get in nobody’s car” was deliciously ominous.
Keep me posted baby
On where you goin to
Keep me posted baby
On everything you say and do
No I don’t trust yo baby no not one bit
Cuz I happen to know that you’re not worth it
So keep me posted baby
An I might keep lovin you.
Keep me posted baby
Let me know just where you are
Keep me posted baby
Doncha get in nobody’s car
Well you might fool me baby for a little while
But it won’t be long befo I find out chile
So keep me posted baby
An I might forget you’re such a liar.
Yeah keep me posted if you want yo man
Yeah keep me posted I want no Mojo hand.
